November 20, I have a receiver that has a 2nd zone output. Can I run that output into the input of your unit and then connect speakers to 3 separate rooms. I realize the source would be the same for all 3 rooms. What is the wiring configuration for the volume controls? Assuming your receiver is a 7. This would be a powered output speaker level using the internal amplifier.

4ohm amp to 8ohm sub?

How to find your Total Score? Add up the points from each column of the above table to find your Total Score. A Detailed Look at your Conditions Determining questions on adding an amp:

Hi Dylan: Any 8-ohm speaker will work with 70V as long as you add an inline Transformer like our Weatherproof OSD-EW70V. It will give you 5 tap setting (, 5, 10, 15, 20W) based upon how much wattage you have available and how many speakers you are planning to use in your system.

As for the non-avr ones, I can’t comment. Sunfire does some weird stuff and Tube amps need different taps for different impedences, but in most cases that switch will restrict current in the 4 ohm position. Again, this has nothing to do with sonics- it’s all about UL approval. If you want better sound, leave the switch in the 8 ohm position, and make sure you’ve got plenty of airflow. Disclaimer- there may be some AVR’s that limit the current on the 8 ohm setting, too All AVR’s have current limiting regardless of the setting.

Current limiting is a safety feature that is incorporated into the design.

Is there any safe way to double up speakers on my AV receiver? July 30, 8: Is there any safe way to double up the surround speakers on my home theater system? Any previous questions around this topic that I could find quickly spun into debates over “resistance” vs.

WATT POWER: These mini bookshelf speakers have a power handling of watts peak that will produce high sound resonance. It has an 8 Ohm impedance and great for .

Trying to find AVRs that handle 4-ohm loads specifically “on the cheap” is no easy task. I went through that search myself and settled on my current Denon. Again, unless you plan on driving your speakers to ear-splitting levels, most quality brand AVRs will drive 4-Ohm speakers just fine at normal listening levels. Most AVRs with 4-Ohm or 6-Ohm speaker settings in their setup menus just put throttling circuits in place to prevent the amps from overheating if the load gets too great.

It’s protection more than a performance enhancement. They give the 8 ohm specs, but I don’t know how well they can handle 8 ohm speakers with a 4 ohm dip. The Arcams I have used , can handle 4ohm rated speakers fine. However they are far from cheap! Thanks Jared Rachwalski and angust I have just purchased a new pair of KEF R ‘s and am looking to upgrade the center as well to the R I have read that the R ‘s can dip down to around the 4 ohm level and so far they sound great.

8 ohm amp with 6 ohm speakers?

Do I get one with Dolby Atmos? Do I even need any of those things? Denon says that the AVR-S H is their most advanced Denon S Series home entertainment solution to date and comes with a complete set of next-generation audio and video features. It may be the right receiver for you- even if you can spend more money! There’s also an Auto Eco mode that adjusts the maximum power available according to the volume level as well as an on-screen Eco meter that lets you see the power consumption reduction in real time.

Dec 26,  · It would halve the impedance seen by the amp to 4 ohms if both pair are 8 ohm speakers. That’s not the best for the amp. It also would cause imaging to go from accurate to overblown, ala “wall of sound” with possible odd phasing effects.

You don’t want to know El Hombre Lobo said: I can’t tell if the sub is a single voice coil or dual. Perhaps someone can correct me? In any case, could I not boost the gain on the amp to get more then W? For this JL sub in particular the company says W is optimal while W is the bare minimum. If I could increase the amp gain to the W area I would be happy. Is this possible or is the amp limited to a ceiling of W when connected to an 8ohm sub? If there was a way to up the power, it would start to distort.

This explanation seems clear and helpful, but isn’t there a confusing typo in your two examples of how to compute impedance? Although the examples refer to a setup that has two 4-ohm speakers and one 6-ohm speaker, the numbers plugged into the formulas are 4, 4, and 8.

March 15, Speakers are very good quality and sound is excellent Speakers are very good quality and the sound is crisp. Installation was very easy, my only suggestion is using a drop of oil inside the brackets so that the screws slide easier, without the use of oil it feels like the crews may break the plastic mounting brackets because there is a lot of friction.

By Audio King July 13, Great flush outdoor speakers! I’m a professional audio installer, who has over 20 years of experience with speakers and how they need to perform. What I like the best about these speakers are how full they sound at low volumes! I usually install these speakers for back patio sound and have been very pleased with how they perform. They are very clear and have awesome mid bass at any level you want to drive them which is great for patio environments!

I highly recommend them! Allow time for them to break in. The jury is out on how long they will last on my Patio! I have only had them for a few weeks but they sound very good. If they can tolerate the Arizona summer heat for the full 10 year warranty period, I will be happy. My old ones only lasted eight years, and were warranted for 5 years.

I’m looking for advice from the audio experts out there. I know I’ll be fine at low volumes but I don’t want to damage the receiver. I read something somewhere about “ohm resistors. Where do I get them? What ones would I need? How do they work?

WATT POWER: The Pyle 4 Channel Amplifier is perfect for your PA & home theater surround sound system. It gives you watts peak power which can be used for multi speakers w/ ohms impedance allowing you to enjoy high quality music & movies.

Power amplifiers are devices that amplify electrical signals that have been adjusted to an appropriate volume and tone sent from the mixer, to a level that can be converted to acoustic sounds by the speakers. There are various types and models of power amplifier, varying in size, shape and output power, which are suited to different situations. Types of power amplifier There are three major types of power amplifier, the characteristics of which are described below.

Stand-alone power amplifiers amplify the signals sent from mixers to make the speakers produce sound. Several stand-alone power amplifiers can be installed together in racks, making it comparatively easy to build a large-scale PA system. Since the mixer and power amplifier which require a power supply are integrated into the PA system, only one power supply connection is required, and there are less connections to make than with stand-alone amplifiers.

The higher the ohm rating, the more power that is needed to drive the speaker. Amplifiers and audio receivers deliver the power to drive your speaker system. Amps and receivers are rated by watts, a measurement of power, into a specified number of ohms, for example, watts into 8 ohms. When connecting pairs of speakers with different ohm ratings, a few simple calculations can help you avoid burning out your equipment.

The ohm rating is typically printed on the back of the speaker. Step 1 Turn around each speaker you’ll connect to the amp or receiver to check the ohm rating printed on the back. For example, you may have a pair of speakers rated at 4 ohms each and another pair rated at 8 ohms each. Step 2 Pull out the amplifier or receiver to view the minimum ohm requirements printed next to the speaker terminals. For example, your amp might be rated at watts into 4 ohms minimum.

This figure is then divided by total ohms in both speaker systems, which is This is within the acceptable range of the 4-ohm minimum rating of your amp and is safe to connect. Step 5 Connect the speaker wires to the amp or receiver using the colored wire for the positive terminal and the remaining wire for the negative. Hook up the other end of each wire to a speaker in the same manner, taking care not to cross the wires.

Aesthetically, it looks like a standard black receiver. Up close though, its simplicity reminds me of the old stereo integrated amplifier my father had when I was growing up. It has knobs for bass, treble, and balance, as well as a loudness adjustment. Around back, the simplicity compared to surround sound AVRs continues. There are four pairs of analog audio inputs, as well as some outputs: There is also a 12V trigger out for your external amplification.
